I’m Sara, writer and student of all things life design. My writing is encouraging, practical, a little woo woo and laced with lots of personal truths.
I’ve been searching for ways to flourish and thrive for as long as I can remember. I still haven’t fully mastered it, but I can help you unravel some of the complexities of how you can find and flourish. Explore this blog if you’re a busy Mama who seeks more goodness in your life…
My story
Hey there, I’m Sara Drawwater, Mama to one, with another on the way. Life is one big juggle! Sound familiar?
My hear hurts for Mama’s who are struggling with overwhelm, fear, lack of control and the inability to finance a better a life. I have been that Mama, and to a certain degree am still that Mama.
So I write about how we can overcome these challenges and really live, thrive and flourish.
I’m hurtling towards 40 and still have this feeling of not quite being where I want to be. I was almost too busy for motherhood, squeezing it in because my body clock was against me, not because I felt ready! I have a constant nagging feeling that I am running out of time for all the important things that require more money and more time. Looking after myself does not come naturally. I have struggled with self image and giving too much of myself.
Life is great in so many ways. I’m blessed with good health. I’m happily married and we’re parents to Marley, a calm, sensitive and inquisitive little boy. Bump number two arrives in May 2021. We have a nice home, a project we’ve been working on for too many years! I have a great extended family and wonderful small circle of friends. I run my own business from home which gives much coveted flexibility to work around my children. For my work I’m part of the leadership team at Infobwana Ltd and championing ecommerce in Zambia via Shopbwana.
I am grateful for all these blessing whilst I seek more. I believe life should not be average, that we are given talents and opportunities so we can leave a positive mark on the world. But I don’t feel satisfied with what I have achieved so far and I’m working on changing that.
I have lived my 35+ years in Zambia and England. A mixture of Zambian, English and Scottish blood runs through my veins — I am a true child of our colonial history. I grew up in Zambia and never planned to settle here in England. But I met a certain Englishman in college who turned out to be a pretty awesome Dad! I love the home we have made here. I also miss, love and hope for my home in Zambia.
I am determined, stubborn and persistent. I am a weird mix — hard as nails, and incredibly emotional, a creative soul, with an appetite for business. I am both judgemental and kind. I probably come across confident, but I’m often at war with my self talk. I’m constantly seeking the freedom to really live, thrive and flourish.
